Fulton County commissioners will preview the county's 2027 state legislative agenda when the board meets Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 10 a.m.

The update tops the board's regular meeting at the Fulton County Government Center Assembly Hall, 141 Pryor St. SW in Atlanta, according to the county's meeting notice. The 2027 agenda has not been released publicly, so it is unclear how the new priorities will differ from the current list.

The county's 2026 Legislative Agenda, adopted Dec. 17, 2025, asked state lawmakers for additional Superior Court judgeships, online publication of legal notices and protections for local government authority. That document also backed expanded behavioral health funding, a permanent Fulton County seat on the ATL transit board, legalized gambling revenue for public safety and mental health, statewide Family Justice Centers and repeal of the LIFE Act (H.B. 481), Georgia's six-week abortion ban.

$10.6 million in senior transportation contracts

Two senior transportation contracts totaling more than $10.6 million are also before the board, according to the meeting agenda.

The larger contract would extend a deal with Transdev Services Inc. for up to $9,589,074.96 to provide transportation for Senior Services and Behavioral Health programs from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027. That item was held at the board's Oct. 7 meeting and returns Wednesday. A separate three-month extension worth up to $1,062,000 with Atlanta-based Common Courtesy would continue ride-sharing services for eligible Fulton County residents aged 60 and older through March 31, 2027.

AI policy, ballot printing and delegate votes

Commissioner Dana Barrett is sponsoring a resolution directing the county to develop policies for the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) across all county operations. The resolution calls on the county manager to work with the county attorney and chief information officer to set rules around privacy, accuracy and human oversight.

The board will also vote on a $260,460 ballot-printing contract with Tattnall Journal Inc., doing business as Tattnall Ballot Solutions, for the 2027 municipal and runoff elections. The contract runs Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2027, and exercises the final renewal option on the existing deal.

Other items include a justice system update, budget soundings and approval of the 2027 meeting calendar. Vice Chair Khadijah Abdur-Rahman is sponsoring a resolution that would require the full board to approve voting delegates to the National Association of Counties and the Association County Commissioners of Georgia.

Chairman Robert L. Pitts will preside. The District 4 seat remains vacant.
