Voters cast 1,936 ballots at Roswell’s two libraries Tuesday, Oct. 13, as early voting opened for the Nov. 3 general election.
Roswell Library recorded 1,056 votes, and East Roswell Library recorded 880. Across Fulton County, 23,845 voters cast early ballots on opening day, according to the county’s unofficial turnout report.
The library figures reflect ballots cast at those locations, rather than a count limited to Roswell residents. Registered Fulton County voters can use any of the county’s 32 regular advance-voting sites.
Where to vote in Roswell
Early voting continues through Friday, Oct. 30. Roswell’s two library locations are:
- Roswell Library, 115 Norcross St.
- East Roswell Library, 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road, which also has an absentee ballot drop box.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, noon to 5 p.m., according to the county’s current schedule.
The East Roswell drop box is available during advance-voting hours. Absentee ballots cannot be returned at early voting sites without a designated drop box or registrar’s office.
Transportation tax renewal
Roswell voters will decide whether to renew the 0.75% Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax, or TSPLOST, for five years beginning April 1, 2027.
The tax applies to taxable purchases in Fulton County outside Atlanta. The renewal would continue the existing rate through March 31, 2032, according to the county’s election notice.
Fulton County’s current Roswell project fact sheet estimates $98.2 million in revenue for the city, replacing an earlier estimate of $85 million to $95 million.
That figure covers Tier 1 and Tier 2 projects. Proposed work includes citywide resurfacing, bridge improvements, the East Roswell Loop Multi-Use Trail and corridor improvements on Nesbit Ferry and Hembree roads.
Education sales tax
A separate question asks voters whether to continue the 1% education sales tax, known as ESPLOST, beginning July 1, 2027, for up to five years.
The measure could raise approximately $2.1 billion for Fulton County Schools and Atlanta Public Schools combined. Fulton County Schools’ maximum allocation would be approximately $1.306 billion, according to the official election notice.
Eligible uses include school construction and renovation, technology, safety improvements, equipment and school buses.
Key deadlines
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Friday, Oct. 23. Completed absentee ballots must be received by 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
On Election Day, voters must use their assigned polling location. Residents can check their registration, polling place and sample ballot through Georgia’s My Voter Page.
