Roswell-area residents who want to vote on two tax referendums and statewide races on Nov. 3 must register by the end of business Monday, Oct. 5.

The deadline applies to new registrations and address updates. Residents can register or check their status at the Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov.

Two Fulton County sales tax questions give the ballot direct local stakes. One asks voters outside Atlanta to renew a 0.75% transportation sales tax, known as TSPLOST, that would run from April 1, 2027, through March 31, 2032. The other asks countywide voters to reimpose a 1% education sales tax, called ESPLOST, starting July 1, 2027, for up to five years.

The TSPLOST renewal alone could send $85 million to $95 million to Roswell over five years for 18 transportation projects, according to Roswell Connections. Those projects include the East Roswell Loop Multi-Use Trail, a bridge repair program, citywide resurfacing and corridor improvements on Nesbit Ferry Road and Hembree Road. Countywide, the tax is projected to generate more than $650 million.

After the Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously on Aug. 3 to place the TSPLOST renewal on the ballot, Mayor Mary Robichaux told Roswell Connections, "Roswell voters will have the opportunity to decide in November whether to continue the transportation improvements that TSPLOST has made possible in our community."

The ESPLOST measure could raise roughly $2.1 billion countywide for Fulton County Schools, according to Rough Draft Atlanta.

The Nov. 3 ballot also includes races for governor, U.S. Senate, U.S. House and Fulton County Commission seats.

Absentee voting is underway. Fulton County's unofficial absentee report showed 11,014 applications accepted and 158 ballots received as of Oct. 2. The East Roswell Library at 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road is one of seven county absentee ballot drop box locations.

Early in-person voting runs Oct. 13 through Oct. 30 at 32 locations across Fulton County. Weekend hours include Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m. The absentee ballot application deadline is Oct. 23.
