Voters cast 3,599 ballots at Roswell’s two library polling locations during the first two days of early voting for the Nov. 3 general election, according to Fulton County’s unofficial figures.

Roswell Library at 115 Norcross St. recorded 1,919 ballots through Wednesday, Oct. 14. East Roswell Library at 2301 Holcomb Bridge Road recorded 1,680, according to the county’s advance voting report.

Nearby, North Fulton Service Center at 7741 Roswell Road in Sandy Springs recorded another 1,426 ballots. Together, the three locations accounted for 5,025 of the 45,804 early ballots cast countywide during the first two days.

Those counts reflect where people voted, rather than turnout specifically among Roswell residents. Registered Fulton County voters can use any advance voting location in the county.

Georgia sets opening-day midterm record

Statewide, 188,667 people voted in person Tuesday, Oct. 13, setting a first-day early voting record for a midterm election, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Office.

That was more than 53,000 above the opening-day total in 2022, an increase of approximately 40%.

Sheila Livingston, an 83-year-old Roswell resident, was among the opening-day voters. She told the Georgia Recorderthat she preferred Republican gubernatorial nominee Rick Jackson over Democrat Keisha Lance Bottoms, citing taxes and public safety.

Political leaders from both parties also encouraged early participation.

U.S. Sen. Jon Ossoff, a Democrat seeking reelection, voted Oct. 13 at an Atlanta polling place and urged residents to avoid leaving their ballots until Election Day.

“You don’t want to risk a bad alternator or a thunderstorm,” Ossoff said, according to the Recorder. “Go ahead and take care of things now.”

Gov. Brian Kemp encouraged supporters to vote early during an Oct. 12 campaign appearance with Jackson near Augusta.

Early voting continues through Oct. 30

Fulton County’s advance voting locations are open:

  • Monday through Friday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
