The Charlotte Knights kept rolling Thursday, July 30, beating the Nashville Sounds 6-4 at First Horizon Park to take the lead in the season series at 11-10.
Former Centennial High School standout Jonathan Cannon was listed as active for the Knights, one night after dominating Nashville in a Wednesday, July 29 start. In that outing, the 6-foot-6 right-hander worked six innings, allowing three hits and one earned run while striking out four in Charlotte's 12-5 rout. According to Sox On 35th, Cannon has now posted three outings of at least six innings with no more than one run allowed in his last five games.
Whether Cannon appeared in relief Thursday or rested between starts was not confirmed in available box-score data. Shane Smith drew the start for Charlotte on July 30, striking out seven in four innings while allowing four earned runs, according to Sox Machine. Eric Haase drove in five of the Knights' six runs, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double.

Graham Pauley (Milton High School, Alpharetta) and his Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp split a doubleheader with the Memphis Redbirds, winning the second game 11-4. Individual stats for Pauley were not available.
Mark McLaughlin (Northview High School, Johns Creek), a pitcher for the Birmingham Barons, was on the winning side of a 7-1 blowout over the Chattanooga Lookouts. Drew Thorpe started for Birmingham, striking out five in four innings while allowing just one hit.
Michael Trautwein (Northview High School, Johns Creek), a catcher for the Lookouts, was on the losing end of that same Birmingham-Chattanooga matchup.
Jason Delay (Northview High School), a catcher for the Worcester Red Sox, faced the Norfolk Tides on Thursday. The game result was not confirmed in available sources.
All five alumni are scheduled to play again Friday, July 31: Cannon's Knights host the Sounds at 7:35 p.m., Pauley's Jumbo Shrimp host Memphis at 7:05 p.m., McLaughlin's Barons host Chattanooga at 8 p.m., Trautwein's Lookouts visit Birmingham at 8 p.m., and Delay's Red Sox visit Norfolk at 6:35 p.m.
