A Roswell-based Rotary club chartered just four months ago has more than doubled its membership and now leads all clubs in Rotary District 6900 for net growth.

The North Atlanta Professional Alliance Rotary Club started with 16 founding members when it received its charter on March 23. By its July meeting at Roswell Junction, 340 S. Atlanta St., the club counted 42 members, according to a post on the Rotary District 6900 website published July 21.

That same meeting, NAPA hosted District Governor Cynthia Dorsey Edwards for her official visit. Edwards took office July 1 as leader of the district's roughly 97 clubs across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. She previously served as president of the Rotary Club of Stone Mountain.

Before the full meeting, NAPA board members joined Edwards for dinner at Roswell Junction, where they discussed how each found Rotary and what the club's first year of growth has meant. The club presented Edwards with a $1,500 check split between the Rotary District 6900 Foundation and PolioPlus, Rotary International's flagship polio-eradication initiative.

NAPA ranks No. 1 on the district's membership leaderboard, according to the Rotary District 6900 website. The club describes its membership as CEOs, attorneys, founders, and executives.

In a blog post recapping the evening, the club described Edwards as "genuinely moved by what NAPA has built."

NAPA grew out of a former satellite group affiliated with the Rotary Club of Johns Creek before receiving its own independent charter, according to a Johns Creek Rotary social media post. It is the third Rotary club based in the Roswell area, joining the long-established Roswell Rotary Club and Roswell After Hours.
