Downtown Roswell's Oak Street will shut down to cars and open up to live bands, local food and pop-up shops Friday, July 24, when the Oak Street Summer Jam wraps its second season with a free block party from 5 to 9 p.m.

The stretch of Oak Street between Canton Street and Atlanta Street becomes a car-free festival zone for the evening, according to the event's website. Kings Union opens the music, with headliner Justin Music closing out the night.

The Summer Jam is not a city-run event. Downtown businesses created the block-party series in summer 2025 as a way to draw foot traffic to Oak Street and expand the district's draw beyond Canton Street. Organizers brought it back for a second season in 2026, running three Friday evenings: May 22, June 26 and the July 24 finale.

More than 25 businesses and organizations are listed as participants or sponsors. Among them: Blended Family Spirits, Oak Street Bottle Shop, Sunny & Ranney, Arepa Grill Kitchen & Wine, Companion & Co., Children's Development Academy, Confetti Clubhouse, West + Peak and Visit Roswell, according to event listings and the Liliana McGaughey Realty blog, which tracks downtown development.

The kids' zone opens at 5 p.m. with a bounce house, crafts and face painting. Food vendors and pop-up makers line the street throughout the evening.

Visit Roswell GA recommended on Instagram that attendees park at City Hall and walk over. The city's new downtown parking deck at 1056 Alpharetta St., which opened in May and added 394 free spaces, offers another option while Green Street construction continues, according to Roswell Connections.

Organizers have not announced whether the series will return in 2027.
