A sedan sped through a Roswell cul-de-sac on the evening of Tuesday, July 14, jumped a curb, knocked down a mailbox, and fled before police could arrive.
Roswell Police responded to the hit-and-run on Old Oak Trace before 10 p.m. after residents reported a vehicle driving erratically through the neighborhood, according to an incident report published by Appen Media reporter Hannah Yahne on Tuesday, July 21.
One resident told the responding officer he saw the sedan parked in the cul-de-sac before it accelerated suddenly, jumped the curb, and briefly stopped in front of his house. The car then struck a mailbox as it sped away.
Multiple residents reported the vehicle had nearly struck several parked cars during its path through the neighborhood.
No suspect identified
No one has been arrested or charged. None of the residents had home surveillance footage that captured a usable image of the vehicle or its license plate, leaving investigators without a physical description of the car or driver.
As of July 21, Roswell Police had not released any suspect information. The department has not indicated whether physical evidence was recovered at the scene.
The case remains open.
