Truth Be Told, the Canton Street restaurant owned by Jonathan Yu, won the cocktail category at Roswell's 11th annual Summer Sippin' competition and placed in two of the event's three divisions.

Roswell Inc. announced the winners Thursday, Sept. 3, after weeks of community voting across three categories: Cocktails, Non-Alcoholic & Specialty Drinks, and a debut Mocktails lineup. Roswell Inc. and Visit Roswell run the competition each summer to draw traffic to local restaurants and cafes during slower months.

Truth Be Told's winning cocktail, "The Whole Truth," blends Alida Reposado tequila, Yellow Chartreuse, St. Germain elderflower liqueur, clarified lemon juice, honey syrup and Giffard Madagascar Vanilla. The restaurant at 1104 Canton St. also took second place in the new mocktails category with "Little White Lies," a zero-proof drink built on Lyre's non-alcoholic gin, Giffard Elderflower, orgeat almond syrup, fresh lemon juice and orange blossom water.

Proper Hop Taphouse on Atlanta Street finished second in cocktails with "Continental Cooler," a bourbon-and-amaro blend topped with Monday Night Brewing's 404 Lager. Fresco Cantina Grille rounded out the cocktail podium with "Tropicoqueta."

Whit's Frozen Custard of Roswell won the non-alcoholic division with "Whit's Pineapple Whip," a frozen mix of pineapple, vanilla custard and pineapple Italian ice. Fellows Cafe placed second with a peach-and-mint cold brew. Scooter's Coffee took third with a s'mores cookie shake.

The new mocktails category belonged to Arepa Grill Kitchen & Wine. Its winning entry, "Liberty Dragon," pairs watermelon, dragon fruit, berries, fresh lime, ginger beer and jalapeño, finished with a Tajín rim. Scooter's Coffee placed third in mocktails as well, joining Truth Be Told as the only businesses to finish in the top three of multiple categories.

The competition ran from June 16 through Aug. 18, according to Roswell Inc. Gas South and Huntington Bank served as presenting sponsors. All nine winning drinks were chosen by public vote.
