Blessed Trinity Catholic High School handed out championship rings Wednesday, Aug. 19, to two state title-winning teams, capping a spring that brought the Roswell school a pair of GHSA crowns in girls soccer and girls lacrosse.

Athletic Director Ricky Turner and Principal Cathy Lancaster presented the hardware to coaches and players from both programs at the ceremony announced on the school's website.

Two titles. One school. One season.

The girls soccer team beat Marist 1-0 on May 15 to claim the Class 4A championship, the program's second straight state title. The girls lacrosse squad topped Cambridge 14-12 on May 13 in the Division I final at West Forsyth High School, reclaiming a crown the Titans last held three years ago.

The lacrosse win was a revenge story three years in the making. Cambridge had beaten Blessed Trinity in the previous two state finals, and the teams met for a third consecutive championship game this spring. Senior captain Hannah Daley, who will play at the Naval Academy next fall, scored eight of the Titans' 14 goals. Her younger sister Morgan added two more, giving the Daley sisters 10 goals between them.

Head coach Gordon Dudley told Appen Media after the May 13 win that his halftime message was simple: "The big message at halftime was, 'now's not the time to stop.'"

Daley told Appen Media after the game that the team had been building toward the moment since February. "We knew we were gonna be in a deficit at one point, but everything we've done since February has been for this game," she said. "We weren't gonna let them embarrass us again."

Senior Maggie Sullivan posted a hat trick in the same championship game, her final as a Titan. After the May 13 win, Dudley called goalie Adalyn Kramer's performance the best of her career.

The AJC confirmed the soccer final over Marist. Back-to-back titles in Class 4A put the Titans' soccer program among the area's most consistent winners.

With the rings on their fingers, both programs close the book on a historic spring. The lacrosse team will need to replace Daley and Sullivan next season. Hannah Daley takes her game to Annapolis.
