Blessed Trinity's Dudley eight wins from 250 after 44-0 rout extends season-opening streak to 16 years

Blessed Trinity head coach Ed Dudley is now eight wins away from becoming just the 32nd coach in Georgia high school football history to reach 250 career victories, after the Titans opened the 2026 season with a 44-0 rout of Decatur on Thursday, Aug. 20.

The blowout in the Corky Kell-Dave Hunter Classic pushed Dudley's career record to 242 wins across 33 seasons as a head coach. It also extended Blessed Trinity's streak of season-opening victories to 16 consecutive years.

"Good night for the guys. I thought they played really well," Dudley said after the game, according to 92.9 The Game.

Running back MJ Craft set the tone, rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Quarterback Ty Page was efficient in limited action, completing 3 of 7 passes for 83 yards and two scores.

The defense was dominant. Blessed Trinity held Decatur to 93 total yards, forced two turnovers and recorded three sacks.

The only concern: Quinn Jacobs left with an ankle injury.

The road to 250

Dudley built the bulk of his career at Walton, where he won 110 games from 1995 to 2008, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. In his three seasons at the Roswell school, the Titans have averaged nine wins per year.

At that pace, Dudley could hit 250 before the regular season ends. But the schedule won't make it easy. Milton, which won back-to-back state championships in 2023 and 2024, visits next. After that comes Hebron Christian, the two-time reigning GHSA Private state champion.

Dudley acknowledged the difficulty ahead. "We're one of the top ten toughest schedules in the state and we just have to play it out," he told 92.9 The Game.

Only 31 coaches in Georgia history have reached the 250-win mark. Among others chasing milestones this fall, Marist's Alan Chadwick enters the season with 457 victories and sits 20 wins behind all-time leader Larry Campbell of Lincoln County, per GPB Sports.

Blessed Trinity hosts Milton at home in its next game.
