Fulton County Schools is gathering community feedback on possible attendance zone changes, consolidations or closures involving four north Fulton middle schools.

The review includes Autrey Mill, Elkins Pointe, Haynes Bridge and Holcomb Bridge. The district says no specific changes have been approved.

According to the district’s forum notice, the first middle school session was scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Centennial High School. Two more forums are planned at the school’s gymnasium, 9310 Scott Road, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A draft attendance zone map is scheduled for presentation Nov. 11. A revised draft will follow Dec. 15, giving families another opportunity to comment.

Enrollment decline drives review

Appen Media reported that combined enrollment at the four middle schools is projected to fall from 3,141 students to 2,631 by the 2030–31 school year, a decrease of 510.

The Fulton County Board of Education voted Sept. 17 to advance the planning process. The district will consider community feedback and further analysis before presenting recommendations for board consideration.

Elementary school forums begin Oct. 13

A separate review involves Esther Jackson, Hembree Springs, Mimosa and Vickery Mill elementary schools.

Those forums will take place in the Roswell High School gymnasium, 11595 King Road, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The opening session is Tuesday, Oct. 13, followed by meetings Nov. 9 and Dec. 14.

The district’s redistricting page provides schedules, planning materials and flyers in English, Spanish, Chinese, Korean and Hindi.
