Roswell residents looking to check trail conditions after a rainstorm or find the nearest pickleball court now have a single place to look.

Pulse Media Group, a Roswell-based digital media company, launched the Roswell Parks Hub on Monday, Aug. 24. The free tool consolidates information on all 15 city parks, five trail systems, six Chattahoochee River access points and dozens of amenities into one searchable, interactive platform, according to the company, which built and maintains the hub. No login is required.

The hub pulls live data from Open-Meteo for weather and air quality and from USGS river gauges on the Chattahoochee. Trail condition ratings update automatically and are computed separately for paved surfaces, dirt trails and mountain bike terrain, since each reacts differently to the same rain event.

A "Find a Park" directory lets users filter by activity type, including pickleball, swimming, dog-friendly areas and playgrounds. A geolocation sort ranks parks by distance from the user's current location.

Closure alerts and river safety

The tool currently flags an active closure for Riverside Park, the 21-acre riverfront site at 575 Riverside Road that draws more than 130,000 visitors a year. The park closed Feb. 1 for a $13.8 million bond-funded renovation and is expected to reopen in summer 2027.

Steven Malone, director of the city's Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, said in December 2025 when the council approved the renovation contract that every decision about the park's layout and trees "was reviewed carefully to support safety, accessibility, environmental needs, and daily use."

The hub's river-conditions panel also includes a dam-release warning banner that triggers when Chattahoochee flow exceeds 3,500 cubic feet per second.

What's covered

The five trail systems tracked are Big Creek Greenway, Big Creek MTB/Freeride, Vickery Creek (part of the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area), Roswell Riverwalk and Leita Thompson Park. Amenities listed include sports fields, volleyball courts, the East Roswell sprayground, the city's disc golf course, restroom locations and pavilion rental information. A built-in sunset and park-gates countdown helps evening planners, since several Roswell parks close at dusk.

The city maintains more than 1,100 acres of park space and 32 miles of trails, according to Mayor Mary Robichaux's July/August 2026 newsletter.

The Parks Hub joins two earlier free tools from Pulse Media Group: the Roswell River Hub and the Roswell Downtown Parking Wizard.

The $3.1 million Roswell Area Park Pond improvements project is approximately 90% complete, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10, at 10 a.m. at Roswell Area Park, 10495 Woodstock Road.
