Student-athletes at Roswell High and Centennial High can now pursue Name, Image and Likeness deals, but families have seven days to notify their school's athletic director after signing any agreement.
Fulton County Schools has posted a NIL compliance resource package on its athletics department website, spelling out Georgia High School Association rules and offering discounted educational materials as the fall sports season gets underway.
The seven-day notification rule is the headline requirement. Within a week of entering any NIL contract, a student or parent must inform the principal or athletic director. At Roswell High, that's AD Ben Sutter. At Centennial, it's AD Trey Henson.
What's allowed, what's not
GHSA rules permit students to earn money from their name, image and likeness under specific conditions. Compensation cannot be tied to athletic performance, cannot serve as an incentive to enroll at or stay at a particular school, and cannot come from the school itself or anyone acting on its behalf.
Athletes also cannot use school logos, uniforms, mascots or any trademarked GHSA imagery in NIL activities. No school facility may be used. Endorsements of tobacco, alcohol or controlled substances are prohibited.
Violations of the recruiting-related restrictions under GHSA By-law 1.70 can cost a student a full year of eligibility.
Context: no state law backstop
Georgia's HB 383, the "High School NIL Protection Act," passed the state House in February 2026 but died in the Senate. That leaves GHSA's Appendix N guidelines, last updated July 23, 2026, as the sole framework governing high school NIL in the state.
FCS Director of Athletics Lamarr C. Glenn flagged the issue in the district's August 2026 fall athletics newsletter, writing that families should understand GHSA rules on name, image and likeness before entering any agreement.
The resource package
The materials were developed by Triple Threat Leadership LLC, founded by Dr. Scott Grant, a former high school coach and athletic director whose "Branding of Me!" course has been used by more than 10,000 students nationally.
The package includes five sections: GHSA Appendix N guidelines, GHSA By-law 1.70 on recruiting and undue influence, general NIL educational resources, a personal branding bundle and a survey.

The resources are listed on the FCS Athletics Department page under "Athletics Department Resources." The district also advises families to seek professional guidance on how NIL income could affect collegiate financial aid eligibility and tax obligations.
Fulton County Schools produced more than 198 college signees across its 16 high schools last school year. Fall practices began Monday, July 27, 2026.
