Roswell authority to vote on new incentive package for PBS Aerospace as investment grows to $90 million

The Roswell Development Authority is set to vote Friday, Aug. 21, on a new incentive package for PBS Aerospace, the Czech-based turbojet engine manufacturer that has rapidly expanded its North American headquarters on Northmeadow Parkway.

The RDA's meeting agenda lists the vote as the first item of new business at the 4 p.m. session in City Hall Room 220, 38 Hill St. The package was negotiated jointly by the Georgia Department of Economic Development, the RDA and PBS Aerospace. Terms have not been made public.

The vote comes as PBS Aerospace's footprint in Roswell has grown far beyond its original commitment. The company initially pledged up to $20 million and 150 jobs when it chose Roswell over competing sites in Texas and Florida on Feb. 3, 2025. By December 2025, the city reported that investment figure had ballooned to $90 million with more than 150 high-paying positions already filled.

PBS Aerospace, which manufactures small turbojet engines for drones, missiles and unmanned defense systems, moved into its facility at 1350 Northmeadow Parkway in April 2025 and held its grand opening on Sept. 4, 2025. CEO Erin Durham, a retired U.S. Air Force officer, leads the operation. More than 70 percent of the facility's technicians are military veterans, according to a Metro Atlanta Chamber case study.

The company has already announced a 10,000-square-foot expansion at its current site and plans for a 100,000-square-foot built-to-suit permanent headquarters at Tech Village North in Roswell.

On March 18, PBS Aerospace landed a $3 million U.S. Air Force prime contract to provide propulsion systems for the Family of Affordable Mass Munitions program, its first publicly disclosed federal defense award.

"Roswell was chosen because of the community, the schools, and the world-class talent pipeline," Durham said in a Metro Atlanta Chamber case study published in October 2025. "Georgia Tech and other institutions provide highly talented engineers who help us grow and continue to produce jet engines."

The city recruited PBS Aerospace through an October 2024 trade mission to the Czech Republic, where Councilmember Christine Hall, Government and Community Affairs Manager Katrina Singletary and city consultant Peter Sorckoff pitched Roswell at the MSV International Engineering Fair in Brno.

It is unclear whether Friday's incentive package represents an expansion of the original city deal, which included a 10-year tax abatement, a dedicated project manager and a ground lease option, or a separate state-negotiated agreement tied to the company's growth. The agenda notes a possible quorum of Mayor and Council at the meeting.

The RDA is also expected to approve $1,500 in sponsorship funding for Roswell INC's golf scramble.
