Roswell firefighters pulled a dog from a burning home on Ashton Drive on Sunday evening, Aug. 16, after a neighbor spotted smoke and dialed 911.

Crews arrived within six minutes of the call and had the fire knocked down by 6:41 p.m., the Roswell Fire Department said on X. No one was home at the time. The dog was reunited with the family, and no injuries were reported.

The cause remains under investigation by the Roswell Fire Marshal's Office. The department has not released a specific address on Ashton Drive or provided additional details about the origin of the blaze.

The Ashton Drive fire is at least the third structure fire Roswell crews have battled this summer. On Friday, July 3, firefighters arrived in under three minutes at a house fire on Chattahoochee Street during a thunderstorm and rescued two cats, Fox 5 Atlanta reported. On Saturday, July 11, bystanders who called 911 after spotting smoke at an Alpharetta Street strip mall helped crews reach that fire in under two minutes.

After the July strip mall fire, the department reminded residents to always call 911 immediately when they see smoke, warning people not to assume someone else has already made the call.

The quick response times reflect a pattern: six minutes on Ashton Drive, under three on Chattahoochee Street, under two at the strip mall. In each case, someone nearby saw smoke and called it in without hesitation.
