Roswell equestrian Liza Tittle will represent the United States in show jumping at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar, Senegal.
US Equestrian announced Tittle's selection on Tuesday, Sept. 29. She is the sole U.S. athlete chosen for the equestrian program at the Games, which are scheduled to run from Saturday, Oct. 31, through Friday, Nov. 13.
The Youth Olympic Games, held every four years, feature athletes ages 15 to 17 competing in 28 sports. The 2026 edition in Dakar will be the first Olympic sporting event held on African soil.
North American team, borrowed horses
Tittle will ride as part of a four-member North American Continental Team alongside athletes from Chile, Guatemala and Honduras. Each qualified nation selects one athlete for its continental squad.
The format tests adaptability. Athletes are assigned borrowed horses by random draw and ride that horse for the entire competition. Fence heights reach up to 1.30 meters, roughly 4 feet 3 inches.
Equestrian competition will take place at the Equestrian Centre in Diamniadio, Senegal. Jumping begins Tuesday, Nov. 3, and concludes Friday, Nov. 6, when team and individual medals will be awarded.
Podium finishes at Tryon
Tittle is registered with the Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI) in the jumping discipline. She competes alongside her sister, Suzette Tittle, and the family is associated with Tittle Sport Horses in Roswell.
At the Tryon International Equestrian Center in October 2025, the Tittle sisters swept the podium in the Prestige NAL Junior Jumper Classic. Suzette took first as the only double-clear performer aboard Bull Run's Redemption. Liza finished second aboard Bull Run's Charis and third aboard Bull Run's Relentless, according to Tryon's results.
The opening ceremony in Dakar is set for Oct. 31, with equestrian competition following three days later in Diamniadio.
