Round 1 sweep set the stage

The Hornets had earned their trip to Johns Creek the night before. On Monday, Oct. 5, Roswell hosted Gainesville in Round 1 and swept the Red Elephants 3-0 at Roswell High School.

That win improved the Hornets' record to 17-22 and sent them into the second round. Roswell Athletics announced on X that the team was headed to Johns Creek for the next round.

Roster mix of veterans and youth

The Hornets carried 15 players into the region tournament, including nine seniors and six underclassmen. Senior setter Grace Patterson, middle blocker Rumi Eichelberger and libero Natalie Chandler anchored the lineup. Junior Bijou Pierre, a 5-foot-11 middle blocker and opposite hitter, provided size up front alongside senior Denver Woods.

Five juniors filled out the middle of the roster, among them outside hitter Ansley Powell and opposite Isabella Katreeb. Sophomore Kensi Hollenbach, listed as a setter, opposite and outside hitter, was the youngest player on the squad.

No individual statistics were available for either match.
