V's Coffee Collab has opened its first brick-and-mortar coffee shop in downtown Roswell, bringing a roasting operation that pairs each bag of coffee with a local artist's work.
Owner Harrison Bernard, a musician who has been roasting coffee for about four years, opened the 473-square-foot shop at 34 Webb St., Suite 104, next to West + Peak Roswell Supply. The shop opened in September, placing V's Coffee Collab among nearly 20 new metro Atlanta restaurants that debuted during the month, according to a Rough Draft Atlanta roundup published Sept. 30.
Before the Roswell location, V's Coffee Collab operated as a roasting and catering business for several years, Business Debut reported in April. Bernard described the venture as values-driven, built from the jobs he held while pursuing a music career.
The space is compact. Four two-top tables and a service window make up the seating.
Bernard roasts all the coffee in-house and organizes it into three flavor-profile categories named after musical modes: Lydian, Dorian and Locrian. The categories group beans by tasting notes rather than roast level.
Food options are limited to pastries and baked goods sourced from local vendors. The shop does not have a full kitchen.
"I prefer if people come with a friend and sit and have a conversation," Bernard told Business Debut in April, describing the thinking behind the shop's limited-seating layout.
Bernard built the brand around supporting artists. Each retail coffee bag features rotating artwork with a QR code linking to the featured artist's page. The current collaboration spotlights Ali Leja, a self-taught, full-time professional artist based in Johns Creek, whose piece "Fox and Friend" appears on the packaging.
"We're trying to create a business that is focused on supporting artists," Bernard told Business Debut in the same April interview.
The shop is open Tuesday through Sunday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays are reserved for roasting.
Bernard told Business Debut in April that the team plans to host Saturday markets and performances. An outdoor patio and stage area were under development at that time, though no completion date has been announced.
