Residents near Roswell Area Park should expect construction noise on weeknights starting Monday, Aug. 17, when Baldwin Paving Company begins overnight road resurfacing across the park's internal streets and parking lots.

The work will run Monday through Friday, 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., weather permitting, the city announced on X on Tuesday, Aug. 11. The park stays open during regular daytime hours.

Crews will resurface Roswell Area Park Drive, Emmett Rushin Circle and parking lots throughout the park, according to the city's capital project list. The list names Nick Paserchia and Lee Dyer as project managers. As of July 9, the project was in preconstruction status with a target completion of September 2026.

The project is part of the city's 2026 Citywide Resurfacing Contract, which Roswell City Council unanimously approved March 23, awarding Baldwin Paving $5,241,853 with total spending authorized up to $6,044,408. The program is funded in part through the $179.6 million general obligation bond package voters approved in November 2022.

Roswell maintains roughly 350 miles of roads, and current bond funding supports about 14 miles of resurfacing per year. According to the city's resurfacing program page, contractors place signs at neighborhood entrances about three days before work begins, so residents along the affected routes should watch for notices as early as Friday, Aug. 14.

As we reported Aug. 6, the resurfacing program had expanded to streets near East Roswell Park, Crabapple Center and Roswell Area Park, but no schedule had been released for the park work until now.

No end date for the overnight work has been announced.
